Jemen embassy remains closed
The Dutch embassy in Jemen remained closed on Monday following threats from al-Qaeda at the weekend.
The threats were aimed primarily at the US, but other countries, such as the UK, Germany and France, also closed their embassies.
The Dutch defence ministry said there was no direct threat to the Netherlands, but with other embassies closed, its Jemen embassy could become a target.
There are six Dutch people and 15 locals working in the embassy in the capital Sa’ana.
The ministry is advising people travelling to the Middle East to check travel information, which will be updated as the situation changes.
