After 12 years of decline, the Dutch music industry grows again

Turnover in the Dutch music industry rose 1.9% in the first six months of this year, ending 12 years of continual decline.

Sales reached €58m as streaming services such as Spotify and Deezer grew in mainstream acceptance, sector organisation NVPI said. Income from digital music services more than doubled to €15.7 in the 2013 first half.

Sales of CDs continued to decline, falling 18%, the NVPI said.
