Labour party wants ideas on public transport safety

Labour MPs Duco Hoogland and Ahmet Marcouch will spend much of the summer travelling on public transport.

They will travel with bus drivers and train conductors to find out how they cope with aggressive behaviour. The MPs will also talk to passengers.

The Labour party also wants to hear people’s ideas on how to make public transport safer. It has opened a page on its website with a questionnaire on the subject.

The MPs will report back to parliament in the autumn.

According to earlier research, 40% of passengers do not feel safe on public transport.

The questionnaire – in Dutch – is at pvda.nl/acties/veiligov
