Heatwave ends, for now
The heatwave ended officially on Sunday, with temperatures at national weather centre De Bilt no longer exceeding 25 degrees Celsius.
The 7-day heatwave, the first since 2006, came to an end with heavy storms, flooding and wind damage in several parts of the country.
However, weather forecasters say that after three days of cooler and dry weather, the temperature will again head in the direction of 30 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
