Parking space app will make life easier

Finding a parking space will be quicker and easier by 2015 when information on available spaces is made public, transport minister Melanie Schultz said on Wednesday.

Car park owners in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht will begin collecting and making public information on empty parking spaces later this year. This information will be available for internet service providers to turn into apps.

Other cities will follow and by 2015 information about most parking spaces will be available, the Nos quotes the minister as saying.

‘Finding a parking space often means driving around which creates annoyance and loss of time, and is also bad for the environment,’ the minister said.
