Head of Fyra train maker to address MPs
The head of the Italian company which makes the Fyra high-speed trains will appear before the Dutch lower house of parliament next week, Nos television reports.
The broadcaster says Maurizio Manfellotto, CEO of AnsaldoBreda, will answer the parliamentary infrastructure committee’s questions about the train and its safety problems.
The Dutch and Belgian railway companies have both cancelled orders for the Fyra trains, and last week Manfellotto said he would instigate legal action against them.
AnsaldoBreda has so far denied Dutch and Belgian claims that the trains are not fit for the job.
