Louis van Gaal to quit as Dutch coach after 2014 World Cup
Dutch national football coach Louis van Gaal will stand down after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, he told reporters on Friday.
‘I became coach to take part in a European championship or World Cup. That is something I have never done,’ he is quoted as saying, adding that he expected Oranje to qualify. Oranje currently leads Group D in the group qualifications.
Van Gaal also said he was considering ending his coaching career altogether after Brazil. ‘Unless a nice Premier League side comes along,’ he said. ‘If that happens, I will have to discuss it with my wife.’
