Driving schools need more checks: Labour MP
There should be more regulation of driving schools and a central point where people can make their complaints, Labour MP Atje Kuiken told the Nos on Tuesday.
Kuiken, who has raised the matter before, is worried about the increasing number of driving schools and says those which do not perform properly should lose their licence.
Last week, transport minister Melanie Schultz wrote to parliament saying she saw no reason for greater controls.
Over the past two years, 1,200 new driving schools have opened. ‘There are now cowboys in the sector,’ Kuiken said. ‘We must get rid of them. After all, it affects young people and their money.’
Parliament will debate the matter on Tuesday afternoon.
