Records tumble on warmest March 5 on record
Tuesday was the warmest March 5 on record, with temperatures soaring as high as 17.5 Celsius in Woensdrecht, Noord-Brabant, according to weather bureaus.
In De Bilt weather station near Utrecht, the temperature reached 15.4 Celsius, breaking the previous record from 1992.
The temperature reached March 5 records in Zuid-Holland (16.1), Groningen and Drenthe (15.5), Friesland (14.9) and Noord-Holland (15.4).
According to the KNMI weather bureau, Wednesday will also be warm but with more cloud than Tuesday. It will remain mild for the rest of the week but rain is likely again by Friday.
