No charges for driver who killed two students lying in the road
A motorist who ran over and killed two students who were lying in the road in the wake of a pop festival, will not face charges, the public prosecution department said on Monday.
The two students, a woman aged 18 and a man aged 19, lay down in the road after attending the Appelpop festival. The driver tried to swerve to avoid them but realised too late they were there, partly due to the misty conditions.
The young woman was killed instantly but the man died several days after the accident in hospital. He was able to tell police what had happened, website nu.nl reported.
