Train services cut in the north, longer jams because of the snow

Thursday morning’s early snow fall caused problems on the roads all over the country during the morning rush hour, resulting in longer traffic jams than usual.

Traffic was particularly heavy around Utrecht and Amsterdam, but there were also long delays in the Eindhoven region, motoring organisations said.
Grit lorries had been out in force overnight in an effort to keep roads clear.
Dutch Rail is operating reduced services in the north of the country because of the snow. The distruption to rail traffic is likely to continue until around midday.
The KNMI weather bureau expects more wintry showers during the day, with heavy snow set to fall on Friday.
