Black ice causes road trouble in northern areas
Black ice in northern parts of the country has led to several accidents, forcing the KNMI weather bureau to issue a code orange warning for Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe.
Police say by 08.00 hours they had already had 20 to 25 accident reports in the region and several people had received slight injuries. At least one car ended up in a roadside ditch.
Long traffic jams have built up on the A37 and A32 and speed limits have been reduced on some roads.
