Top lawyer Moszkowicz settles tax debt
Top lawyer Bram Moszkowicz has reached a settlement with the tax office over fines he faced for alleged tax evasion.
Moszkowicz said on Monday agreement had been reached but he declined to give any details. ‘That is what I agreed with the tax office,’ the lawyer said. He had faced €400,000 in fines.
The tax office said earlier Moszkowicz was ‘structurally occupied on lining his pockets’. The department began investigating his financial affairs in 2007.
Moszkowicz, who defended Geert Wilders during his inciting hatred trial, is currently embroiled in a disciplinary hearing for accepting large cash payments from clients. Lawyer are supposed to report all cash payments of over €15,000.
