Heineken sells more beer in all but western Europe

Dutch brewing group Heineken booked an increase in both sales and net profit in the third quarter of this year.


Volume sales grew worldwide, apart from in western Europe, where Portugal and Spain were among the hardest hit territories, Heineken said in a statement.
Sales were up 7% at almost €5bn while net profit rose to €577m from €525m a year ago. The volume of beer sold rose 2.7% to 46 million hectoliters.
