Fewer refugees came to Holland in 2012 first half

Just 4,600 refugees came to the Netherlands in the first six months of 2012, compared with 5,710 in the first half of 2011, according to new immigration ministry figures.


In addition, requests for asylum are being handled more quickly and more people are voluntarily leaving the Netherlands, immigration minister Gerd Leers said at the weekend.
