Whatsappen is a new Dutch word
The Dutch language is a new word richer with the decision of dictionary maker Van Dalen to include whatsappen in its new dictionary.
The verb, meaning to whataspp, is derived from the budget internet messaging service WhatsApp. It will appear in the new edition of the online dictionary in October, Nos reports.
Googelen, msn’en, sms’en, facebooken, twitteren and youtuben are already all official Dutch verbs, Nos said.
