Internet shops grow while non-food retail turnover drops
Dutch retailers booked lower sales in July than they did the previous year, the national statistics office CBS said on Thursday.
However, adjusted for trading days, the overall decline in sales was 1% year on year, the CBS said.
While mail order and internet shops continued to perform well, with a 13% rise in sales, turnover in the non-food sector was down almost 7%. Consumer electronics, outerwear and household furnishings booked the sharpest decline in sales.
