Christian Democrats ponder election defeat

The Christian Democrats have set up a special party commission to look into the CDA’s poor performance in last week’s general election.

The CDA, which regularly used to win over 40 seats, took just 13 in Wednesday’s vote, down eight on their June 2010 total.
At a meeting on Monday evening, party leaders outlined their ‘concerns and disappointment’ at the result but unanimously gave their support to Sybrand van Haersma Buma, who took over the leadership earlier this year.
