A record 267,000 people visited this year’s Parade, a travelling theatre festival which moves between Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht and Amsterdam.

The previous record dates from 2009, when the event drew 260,000 visitors. This year’s festival involved 55 performance days and 60 shows, of which 10 were aimed at children.
The 2012 award for best show went to Dette Glashouwer with her show Geld voor Beginners, which looked at money and the financial system.
