A light plane has crashed into fields near Biddinghuizen, near Lelystad, killing the pilot. Eyewitnesses say the plane spiralled to the ground and crashed nose-first.

The crash took place several kilometres from the site where this weekend’s massive Lowlands music festival is due to take place from tomorrow.
According to news agency ANP, aircraft are not allowed to fly over the festival ground.
