The Netherlands’ policy on refuse collection and waste disposal is the best in Europe, according to a list released on Tuesday by the European Commission in Brussels.

The Dutch top the list with Austria on 39 points. Greece comes last among the 27 EU member countries with just three points.
The commission looks at how much of their waste countries recycle, how much goes to landfill and whether they are breaking EU rules.
