Trains between Amsterdam and Amersfoort are not running on Tuesday afternoon and are unlikely to be back to normal until the evening, Dutch Rail says.

Signals and points have been out of operation since 13.00 hours when a workman digging beside the railway line near Hilversum hit an electric cable.
Dutch Rail is using buses to transport passengers between the various stations along the route, and says the extra travelling time could reach one hour.
