Ajax gives up on Narsingh
Amsterdam football club Ajax no longer expects to add young international Luciano Narsingh to their squad for next season because Heerenveen has not accepted a higher bid, the Telegraaf reports on Tuesday.
Ajax director Marc Overmars told the paper he had ‘very positive’ talks with Narsingh’s representative about a four-year contract but Heerenveen did not accept the offer.
‘That’s it then,’ Overmars said. ‘We are going to look abroad.’
Meanwhile, Twente striker Luuk de Jong is still hoping to move to German side Borussia Mönchengladbach, the paper says. However, given the gap in financial expectations between the two clubs, the move is now considered unlikely.
The transfer season runs until the end of August.
