Ajax football fans may be treated to a match ‘after-party’ complete with music and performers at the club’s Arena stadium, if Amsterdam’s mayor Eberhard van der Laan has his way.
The mayor thinks a 30-minute cooling down period after the game will allow fans to get rid of their aggression and calm down. He is to discuss the plan with club officials, the police and Arena staff, the Telegraaf reports.
Van de Laan hopes the music will stop fans taking out their frustrations on their surroundings and so reduce hooliganism, the paper says.
