Diplomats leave 600 parking fines unpaid
Diplomats in The Hague failed to pay half the 1,200 parking tickets they were given last year, according to regional broadcaster Omroep West.
In total, the city council is missing out on over €30,000 in unpaid fines but is unable to press for payment because of diplomatic immunity rules.
Local councillors for the left-wing greens GroenLinks say the city should draw up a black-list of the worst payers, as happens in Washington and New York, the broadcaster reports.
