ABN Amro to cut jobs at clearing arm

Publically-owned bank ABN Amro may cut up to 60 full-time jobs in a shake-up of its clearing operations, news agency Bloomberg reports.

A spokesman for the bank told Bloomberg about 60 jobs out of 395 are on the line.
The cuts are a part of the integration of former Fortis and ABN units following their takeover by the Dutch state. They also fit in within an efficiency drive for the entire group, the spokesman said.
