Trust in Dutch banks goes down
Some 30% of Dutch consumers think banks put their customers’ needs first last year, down from 36% in 2010, according to a survey from global research group Forrester.
The results are in line with European developments, Forrester said. The research shows Rabobank is the most trusted Dutch bank with 41% support.
Forrester says trust in Dutch banks has fallen after a series of scandals hit the news. For example, news of a €1.25m bonus for the chief executive of ING sparked a public outcry, and thousands of customers threatened to make mass withdrawals when it emerged that ING staff pensions were being frozen for a second year running.
