Stranded cargo ship refloated, arrives at IJmuiden port

Salvage experts on Saturday refloated a ship which ran aground off the coast of Wijk aan Zee, close to the entrance to IJmuiden port.

Efforts to release the 155 metre-long Aztec Maiden failed on Friday after a cable broke, but were resumed at high tide on Saturday.
It is still unclear why the ship, sailing under the Philippines flag, ran aground. A preliminary inspection of the ship has shown no damage or oil leaks, news agencies said.
