People are retiring later: CBS
The age at which people retire is rising, according to figures released on Tuesday by the national statistics office CBS.
In 2011, the average retirement age rose to 63, up from 61 between 2000 and 2006.
The average pension age has been rising since 2007 when a number of changes were made to limit the possibility of early retirement.
The number of people working past the official retirement age of 65 has also risen over the past five years. It rose from 15% in 2006 to 30% in 2011.
The number of people retiring before their 60th birthday dropped from 28% in 2006 to just 6% in 2011.
