It took first prize in both the Amusement and Multimedia categories. The programme format, with judges sitting with their backs to the performers during the early rounds and choosing who goes through on voice alone, has been sold around the world.
Best actor was Joop Keesmaat for his role as former prime minister Joop den Uyl in the series Den Uyl and the Lockheed Affair. Catherine ten Bruggencate won best actress for her role as then Queen Juliana in the same series.
Director and producer Ireen van Ditshuyzen won the oeuvre prize for her role in the development of Dutch television.
The Beeld en Geluid Awards are presented annually by the television industry.
