More people evicted for domestic violence
Mayors issued orders banning nearly 3,000 people suspected of domestic violence from their homes last year, according to city council association figures.
Since 2009, mayors have had the power to remove people from home for 10 days if they consider there is a extreme risk of violence. The temporary expulsion is seen as a ‘cooling off’ period.
According to the Volkskrant, city councils and social workers are pleased at the way the bans are working.
