January was mild and changeable, says weather centre

January was mild and changeable with an average temperature of 4.9&ordm, weather centre KNMI said on Tuesday. The seasonal average is 3.1&ordm.


The month had nine frosty nights compared with the average of thirteen. It was also wetter than usual, particularly in the first half, with 85 millimetres of rain against an average of 73 millimetres.
There were 70 hours of sunshine compared with the 62 hour average.
