Flea market violin is worth €100,000

A violin bought for €50 at a flea market in Den Bosch could be worth at least €100,000, the Gelderlander reports on Tuesday.

The violin’s new owner went through the sheet music sold with the violin and found papers certifying the instrument as the work of Giuseppe Guadagnini and dating from 1801.
The buyer, Aldolf Weis Mirando, a professional pianist and leader of the gypsy orchestra Tata Mirando, says he plans to restore the violin to its former glory.
The violin was one of six put up for sale by an elderly lady. They had belonged to her late husband.
