A record 4.1 million people visited the Efteling amusement park near Tilburg last year, the first time it was open every day of the year.

Nevertheless, the park’s owners say investment in new attractions and disappointing visitor numbers in the summer because of the bad weather will dampen earnings.
‘We had to pull all the stops out in the autumn to make up for the bad summer,’ director Bart de Boer told the Telegraaf.
The Efteling is one of the oldest amusement parks in Europe and celebrates its 60th anniversary this year.
