Ahold books net sales up 4.5%, wins market share
Ahold booked consolidated net sales of €7.3bn in the final quarter of 2011, an increase of 4.5% on the year-earlier period, the supermarket giant said on Thursday in a trading update.
Q4’s results took full-year sales to €30.3bn, up 2.5% on 2010, the company said in the statement. Full-year sales and market share were up in both the Netherlands and the US.
‘We continue to be well-positioned in challenging market conditions with customers remaining cautious in their spending,’ the statement said.
