Last year was a ‘top year’ for homegrown Dutch films, according to the national film festival and Dutch film fund on Monday.

This year, 15 Dutch films went gold (more than 100,000 visitors) – an increase of two on 2010.
Five films reached platinum status with more than 400,000 visitors while two films – New Kids Turbo and Gooische Vrouwen – attracted more than one million viewers to go diamond.
In 2010 there were three platinum and one diamond Dutch films.
