Romania’s president doesn’t like Dutch vegetables

Romanian President Traian Basescu has called for a boycott of Dutch vegetables because of the Netherlands’ decision to block Romania’s entry into the Schengen open border area, news agency AP reported on Monday.

‘I think it’s good not to buy Dutch vegetables,’ AP quotes Basescu as saying on a television programme on Sunday.
In September Romanian authorities introduced a blockade of tulips and bulbs from the Netherlands after the Dutch government said it would veto Romania’s entry to the passport free zone.
The Netherlands again blocked Romania and Bulgaria’s entry last week, saying the two countries have not done enough to stamp out corruption.
