MP Hans Spekman to take over Labour chairmanship
MP Hans Spekman has been voted new chairman of the PvdA (Labour party). Spekman, known for his informal and down-to-earth approach, took nearly 82% of the vote in a poll of party members.
‘The PvdA is in my blood, the blood of my parents and grandparents,’ Spekman said in a reaction. He replaces Lilianne Ploumen who is standing down.
