A 65-year-old man from Oostzaan in Noord Holland has died after being tied up by burglars during a robbery at his home.

The man, who owns a taxi company, and his wife were both beaten and tied up during the robbery in the early hours of Thursday morning. The woman managed to free herself and raise the alarm. She is now being cared for in hospital, news agency ANP said.
