Ajax fan jailed for four months for attacking AZ keeper

An Ajax football fan who tried to attack the keeper of AZ of Alkmaar during a Dutch Cup tie has been jailed for six months, two suspended, by magistrates.

Wesley van W has also agreed to be treated for his problems with alcohol and will be required to report to the police before Ajax, AZ and Dutch international matches for the next two years.
The magistrate found the 19-year-old guilty of attempted serious bodily harm and breaking his stadium ban.
Red card
The Ajax-AZ match was abandoned after keeper Esteban Alvarado kicked his would-be attacker and was given a red card. AZ trainer Gertjan Verbeek then ordered his team off the pitch.
The Dutch football association has since rescinded the red card and decided the match should be played again, without fans.
Angry Ajax supporters are now demanding the Amsterdam club refunds the cost of their tickets. Ajax was leading 1-0 when the incident took place.
