‘World’s biggest Christmas tree’ won’t light up this year
Work on the 366-metre high transmission mast at Lopik in IJsselstein will not be completed in time for the structure to be converted into the traditional massive Christmas tree, according to media reports on Wednesday.
The work should have been completed in October but has been delayed, forcing the cancellation of the Christmas project.
The Lopik tree has been illuminated since 1992.
