AZ of Alkmaar maintained their lead at the top of the premier division in this weekend’s football action, while FC Utrecht shocked Ajax of Amsterdam in a 10-goal game.

AZ beat ADO Den Hague 3-0 to stay on top, while second placed FC Twente had an easy 4-0 victory over De Graafschap.
Surprise match of the weekend was FC Utrecht’s 6-4 win over Ajax. Ajax took an early lead but two goals in three minutes put Utrecht back in front. Ajax equalized and the Amsterdammers were ahead again before the break. Utrecht then turned the game around with three goals in quick succession, leaving Ajax to pull one back in the 72nd minute.
