Teacher in cell for manhandling disruptive pupil

The deputy director of a secondary school in Nieuwegein spent three hours in a police cell following a complaint by a pupil who was forcibly removed from the classroom for being disruptive.

Rob Wesselingh, 59, was picked up by police after the boy and his parents made a formal complaint and taken to a police station to be interviewed, Nos television reports. After a three hour wait in a cell, he was interviewed and sent home.
The school and teaching union CNV say they stand firmly behind the deputy director, who was called to the classroom to remove a 13-year-old boy. The boy had been asked to leave 10 times after fighting with another pupil.
According to the AD, the boy has a reputation for ‘terrorising the class’.
The union is also angry at the way the police treated the teacher.
