Spyker investor Antonov arrested in Britain

Russian millionaire Vladimir Antonov, a long-time investor in Victor Muller’s luxury car brand Spyker, has been arrested in Britain in an inquiry into asset stripping.

Antonov, who also owns Portsmouth football club, is wanted by Lithuanian prosecutors for questioning as part of an investigation into claims involving Snoras Bank, the BBC reports.
Muller announced earlier this year he was to sell the Spyker brand to Antonov but the deal was shelved in September because of the financial problems surrounding Saab.
Antonov is a long-time backer of Spyker but was kept out of the Dutch firm’s deal to buy Saab in 2010 because of US concerns over his suitability as a shareholder in the new group.
