Pop star Rihanna faces hefty fine for late start to Arnhem show
An hour’s delay to the start of her concert in Arnhem is likely to cost pop star Rihanna several tens of thousands of euros in fines, according to local paper De Gelderlander.
The late start on Wednesday night generated a considerable increase in costs and the Gelredome arena operators think Rihanna should pick up the bill, the paper says.
For example, some 800 people involved in the post-concert clear up have to be paid overtime and Dutch Rail delayed a train to make sure the last concert-goers could get home, the paper said.
Meanwhile, Amsterdam television station AT5 reports Rihanna took her niece Noella Alstrom, who was celebrating her birthday, to a cannabis cafe in the city for a couple of hours on Thursday evening.
