Passport cost slashed to less than €50
The maximum cost of a Dutch passport or identity card will go down from 2012, the home affairs ministry said on Tuesday.
The maximum cost of a passport is being cut from €52.12 to €48.73, while an ID card can cost no more than €40.05, down €3.84 on the current fee.
However, the cost of an ID card for someone aged below 14 will go up from €9.22 to a maximum €30.
Parents will no longer be able to include their children in their own passports from next June, and the ministry is expecting a run on ID cards for juveniles in November and December, news agency ANP says.
