More public transport strikes in December

Public transport workers in Rotterdam, The Hague and Amsterdam plan to go on a 24-hour strike again in December.

The strike will take place in the week beginning December 12, according to union spokesman Eric Vermeulen, quoted by news agency ANP.
The strike will be the sixth this year in protest at government plans to cut spending on public transport and force the three cities to put services out to tender.
ANP also reports that transport workers plan to allow passengers to use tram, bus and metro services in the three cities free of charge on December 5, when the Netherlands celebrates Sinterklaas.
