KPN, Telfort face legal action over rounding-off minutes
Telecom providers KPN and Telfort are facing collective legal action over their decision to charge mobile phone users per minute, website nu.nl reported on Thursday.
Some 150 people have signed up to take action against the phone firms. They say it is wrong of KPN and Telfort to always round up calls, so that calls lasting one minute and a few seconds are charged as two-minute calls. They also argue that clients were not properly informed about the changes.
KPN has reversed the new charges for existing clients but does charge by the minute for new customers, nu.nl said.
