Hema, Primera take national retail awards
High street store group Hema has been voted the best retail chain in the Netherlands to win this year’s Dutch retail foundation award.
In a public vote, Hema, known for its cheap and cheerful household articles, was given 7.9 out of 10 for its price quality ratio and 7.8 out of 10 on price. Hema also took the public prize in 2003 and 2008.
Primera, a 430-branch chain of newsagents shops, took the jury prize. The jury praised the retail concept for expanding in difficult times and which ‘cleverly’ anticipates the Dutch consumer’s everyday needs.
