Emergency powers for police to stop pro-orca protests
The mayor of Harderwijk, home of the dolphinarium where Morgan the orca currently lives, has invoked emergency police powers to deal with possible protestors when the orca begins her journey to Tenerife.
The date of the removal has not been made public in an effort to head off potential trouble, according to media reports.
Last week, a court decided Morgan should be transported to an amusement park in Tenerife instead of being set free.
Morgan will be moved to the Spanish island by plane which will make a slow, gradual take-off and landing to minimise shocks, the Telegraaf said.
